Hiring a web designer in Pakistan: the fair-price negotiation guide
Hiring web designers in Pakistan: realistic price ranges, the quote components that matter, red flags and the questions that prevent overpaying.
Quotes for the same website in Pakistan range from PKR 8,000 to PKR 300,000. Both extremes are information. Here is how to navigate to fair.
What drives the price (legitimately)
- Custom design vs template adaptation (the biggest factor — 5–10x)
- Copywriting included or you supply text
- Photography needed?
- E-commerce functionality, integrations, booking systems
- The designer's track record (their portfolio IS the price justification)
Realistic ranges (2026)
- Template-based business site: PKR 25,000–60,000
- Custom-designed business site: PKR 80,000–250,000
- WooCommerce store: PKR 60,000–200,000
- Landing page: PKR 15,000–40,000
Below ~20,000 for a full site: expect a template, minimal revisions, and vanishing support.
The quote components to demand (in writing)
1. Pages/deliverables list
2. Revisions included (two rounds is standard)
3. Who provides content/photos
4. Timeline with a launch date
5. **What YOU own at the end: domain, hosting account, files, admin logins** — the ownership clause is the one that matters
The red flags
- Domain registered in THEIR name with vague answers about transfer
- No portfolio, or portfolio sites that load slowly (their craft, on display)
- 'Free hosting for life' (meaning: dependency on them forever)
- Full payment upfront (milestones: 40/40/20 is fair)
The DIY middle path
The honest alternative: a PKR 999 theme or the AI assistant on a trial, your weekend, PKR 49/month — and 100% ownership. For simple sites, that math defeats most quotes. Hire for custom work; build the standard ones.
