The return policy is read by exactly two audiences: hesitant buyers deciding whether to trust you, and the difficult customer you will eventually meet. Write it for both.
The sections every Pakistani store policy needs 1. The window: '7 days from delivery' — a number, not 'reasonable time' 2. What qualifies: unused, tags on, original packaging — with category exceptions stated (innerwear, edibles: exchange only if defective) 3. The process: WhatsApp photo of the issue → approval → return rider/pickup or drop point 4. Refund method and speed: wallet transfer within 48h of received return, or store credit +5% (the gentle nudge) 5. Who pays return shipping: defective = store; changed-mind = customer (state it plainly) 6. COD specifics: refused parcels after two attempts end COD privileges for that address (the polite blacklist clause)
The trust math (counterintuitive but real) Generous policies return more than they cost: a visible '7-day no-questions exchange' converts the hesitant majority who never return anything. The 3% who abuse it are the marketing cost of the 60% who bought BECAUSE of the policy. Pakistani stores underestimate this — the ones who publish real policies win the fence-sitters.
The plain-language test Write it as WhatsApp sentences, not legal poetry: 'Changed your mind? Send it back within 7 days, unused, and we refund to your wallet within 48 hours of receiving it. Defective item? We collect it and bear the courier.'
Where it lives Linked in the footer AND on every product page ('7-day exchange — read policy'). The policy that hides converts nothing.
One honest page, written today, working every day after. It is the cheapest conversion tool in Pakistani e-commerce.
